Tournament Rules
POOL PLAY (SATURDAY): • 6 inning games; 2–2 count (your at bat begins with 2 balls and 2 strikes) • No free fouls (if you foul off the first pitch, you are out) • Coin flip for home and away • 5 run limit per team for the first 3 innings • Run rule – 15 after 4 and 10 after 5 • NO TIME LIMIT • 7/3 format meaning at minimum 7 men in the field and 3 women, must lead off a girl in your batting order. • No 5-man infields. Must have 4 outfielders. • A female must hit leadoff. • No stealing. • Courtesy runner: 1 per gender, per inning. • Unlimited home runs. BAT RULES: • Women may use any USA softball approved bat • Men may use wood bats, no corndogs • If a male is walked before a female is due up to bat, the guy automatically advances to second base • Women have the option to automatically take a base (if they choose not to hit) no matter how many outs there are (only if a male is walked prior to her at bat) • No more than three (3)males can bat in a row • If a team has more than three male batters in a row, an auto out will be issued before the 4th batter BRACKET PLAY (SUNDAY): • 7 inning games with all the same rules as above except the runs per inning rule is eliminated. • Upper and lower bracket to be determined off pool seeding. IMPORTANT REMINDERS: • Please be ready to play 30 minutes before your scheduled time. When it is your time to take the field, it is not time to warm up, it’s time to play. There will be no 5-minute warmups. Games will start promptly. • This is a charity tournament and there will be a zero tolerance towards any umpire slander. These are volunteers and will be treated with respect.
